Just installed this - and berloody hell!

What have they done to it? It loads obscenely quickly, and then responds instantly when I use it!

This isn't the ximian-ooo I knew and loved

1.3.0? Where did you get that? The newest I could find in Portage is 1.1.61

It's in portage, but you'll have to point it to the ebuild manually, because kde support is currently broken.

Better use /etc/portage/package.unmask (direct emerging of ebuilds is deprecated)

Anyway, really great work the Ximian / Novell bunch are doing with OOo recently, personally my highlight of this release are the native fileselectors. Sweeeeeet

With me it has an error on compiling.
In the beginning of the e-build however, it says to lower your CFLAGS when it fails... How do I do this?

some error output would help, where does it die, do you use the ooo-kde use-flag, which gcc and so on

Would it be possible to get a binary version? OOffice doesn't
compile using hardened gcc (on my machine at least) due to
problems with unresolved symbols (pthreads and friends).

yeah this was caused by the fact, that the build looked for evolution-data-server (which is part of evo 2.0) which wasn't there (but is on my system so it worked for me)

i think the speed increase come from 1.1.2 Ive installed oo 1.1.2, ximian 1.1.61 and 1.3.0 and they all load at basically the same speed.

I just noticed one tiny (but very annoying) thing in the new 1.3.0 version: Open and Cancel buttons have switched places in file chooser dialog (at least in Gnome's dialog).

From changelog:

+ gtk+ file chooser support (Raul)

Seems that it's not fully supporting the native file chooser dialog. Yes, I know, it's only a minor difference, but gets very annoying when all other gnome programs have the buttons other way around.
