Here's my make.conf if that helps:

if i am not misstaken, then you need to remerge sys-libs/glibc and sys-libs/lib-compat. could you try that and then remerge kdelibs again and tell us if it worked?

cheers

I am trying this now. I have the same problem - it breaks on KDELibs, tried two times. I use KDE 3.3.0 at work now, it's amazing - the GUI also feels more stable - less flickering. Mmm. Nice. :)

Can't wait to try the optimizedformyhardware version here at home.

No, KDELibst 3.3.0 doesn't compile. It breaks each time.

Anyone know what to do?

kfiledetailview.lo fails with Error 1.

"The bug is not reproducible, so it is likely a hardware or OS problem." it says.

Any ideas?

do you run distcc or ccache? try emerging kdelibs without it:

Code: Select all

FEATURES="-distcc -ccache" MAKEOPTS="-j2" emerge kdelibs
cheers

It differs all the time, mostly it segfaults. Each it breaks at different places. I'm gonna try to compile again tomorrow, then I will post the errors I get.

I'm trying again now. I will try to post some of the errorlines if it doesn't compile now - I put off "top performance" in the bios, whatever that means.

Later..

Segfaults on an athlon cpu when compiling probably mean that the cpu is overheated. Try

Code: Select all

acpi -t 2>/dev/null
immediately after the sig11 to see the temperature (if it is > 60 deg C, then you need to check the fan).
60s: sex, drugs, rock'n'roll
90s: sux, bugs, drag'n'drop
