/me begins to think a little less of completing his CS degree

I got my job through a friend of a friend and it seems like most everyone else has had various odd jobs in the IT field. Is todays tech job market just crappy altogether?

I suppose I will have to make sure I am very familiar with OSX programming, maybe I will invest in a copy.

During school year I work as a helpdesk in faculty of humanistic sciences. It gives a good perspective of how confused people can really be with computers :D

Where ever I can get the job done the best/soonest.

These days I'm technically unemployed but lately have done alot of contract work repairing computers and doing sysadmin duties for customers on a contract basis.

I work for a Beer Disribution company, Bud and a ton others.
However, this is just a summer job...Last summer I worked for a landscaper. The summer before I worked for the US Navy as a software developer, risk assesser, and tech support...all six of us for the entire base...

I almost had a position with Polaroid in an internship this summer but it fell through as the project was dropped, but I learned they are developing with a SuSE OS for their devices and they are doing it with Java(JNI) and C/C++ too :) Hey, it's linux and Java...it's a great start.

I currently do not have a CS job. I may start a game development company when I graduate this upcoming year as I will be developing a game engine as my undergrad CS thesis.

These are my plans and past things....

I currently work the graveyard shift for a health care provider, giving computer support to nurses/doctors who have problems with their computers. A surprising number of them still run Win95/98, so my night is never completely quiet.

I also monitor all the backend servers and systems of spitting up and dying and wake people up if they do.

It's not the job I mind, really. It's the hours. On the plus side though, the downtime during my job means I get to write. :)
