Well, I happen to like camels; they can run pretty fast, keep going for a long time, and they also have great grins.
Camels spit. Seriously.
Gentoo web wants a redesign and is holding a competition to decide the winner, I am sure quite a few groups will be entering, but hey this open source, what about an open design brainstorm.
Uh oh.
Is purple in or out?
In
If in what shade should it be? websafe or is that old hat now?
Turqoiseish. websafe colors died in the 90's.
Are custom icons the way forward or text links css'd up?
Custom icons can be done with css, even as a replacement to text links which are requirement for accessibility, including support for links2.
Is that logo eating up too much screen real estate?
Nah.
Should the logo be re-branded (what about the T-Shirts)?
Well, if the aim is to look like more corporate friendly or something twisted shit like that, they'd perhaps be best of stealing some mandrake or suse style boring and ugly logo. That colorful piece of abstract art is way too hacker-anarchistic-romantic for serious web site.
Are funky DHTML navs in, or just go with the sprawling current navigation that will work with text only browsers, but requires a degree in link hunting to often find the info you want?
DHTML as in css rollover moneys is yay!
Are the shop items a distraction? Should the EShop actually gain more emphasis?
Shop? What shop?
Should Verdana font actually be used (It is from MS but it does look sweet)?
Verdana should be locked in a chamber and tortured on a daily bases and left unfeeded until it gets nicer and more obeying to reasonable dimensions and proportions.
And, finally where is Larry the Cow? or should he remain burger pate, and a new mascot bought in - Is it time for Gazer the Gentoo?
Larry should be purple!
