Ok... this thing is possessed. So many errors, I dont know where to begin, but one thing that I thought was the problem, was that the pentium 2 that i had is a Pentium 2 w/ MMX (the thing that plugs into a slot). Would this effect something? If so how do I work with it. I thought I saw something on MMX during the installation, but I can't find it. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Everything on your computer mobo plugs into some kind of slot, either its PCI, ISA, IDE, power, or something else, so you'll have to be a bit more specific. To find out what CPU you really have run a `cat /proc/cpuinfo` and post the output.

I've got a p2mmx socket A (yes, it's the slot)

everything works here now
have you done x86 tarball, and in your config file changed the cpu type to i686?

the kernel won't recognize "pentium 2"

this is the part in my /etc/make.conf (which seems to work properly)

CFLAGS="-02 -mcpu=i686 -fomit-frame-pointer"
CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"

actually, it's quite similar to the standards, I think I changed CHOST from i386 to i686
CXXFLAGS just refers to what CFLAGS says

Pentium 2 is under i686, I tried changing it to pentium2, wouldn't work, but in de example file its explained (/etc/make.conf.example or so, not sure anymore, this is windows machine, but try ls, should be easy to find :lol: )

it explains make.conf more, and does actuallytell about pentium2 (it explains which processors are which type, p2 is under i686, but do remind you do need to download x86 cd &tarballs,not i686 (maybe it would work, but my experience says x86, and i686 just for the make.conf)

I believe the word you are looking for is SECC (Single Edge Contact Cartridge)

If I am not mistaken the PII uses SLOT 1 and the Socket A is an AMD thing.
