just an observation that i find kind of funny.

my website tracks referrers and gives me a bit of info about each hit the site gets including the operating system. since joining this forum a few months ago my site has received a few hits from here as i included my website in my profile. of those that have visited, all but one listed some form of windows as the os. of course, i'm typing this from my xp laptop. so, i guess i'm just as guilty. anyhow, i wonder what the stats are for this site? what size piece of the pie does linux account for here? i would have expected different stats on my site.

im typing this on konquror but if there was a tracker it would probably say internet explorer, the reason is lots of sites woulnt let you in or give lots of warnings unless you have your browser set to identify itselve as ie6

a lot of forum time seems to be spent at work or school. Although, I convinced them to let me use a linux box at school .

The only time you'll catch me surfing the web from windows is if I'm waiting for a CD to be imported into iTunes so I can put it on my iPod (I got sick of crappy iPod support in Linux).

I think a lot of people have Linux running at home, but in work or school they have a bit of downtime, and decide to cruise over here and help out or ask some questions, or just waste time.

Or, for all you know, that could all just be from everyone who comes on Windows to find out about switching to something a bit better ;-).

I usually only come here when I am having problems with Gentoo. Usually they are bad enough that I have to use my old laptop that doesn't like linux (or mabye it is becuase I'm too lazy to spend time on it). But now I am coming more and more when I don't have problems :P

I am typing this from IE6,XP (guilty as charged). As I have said numerous times I primarily use the Windows eXPerience for my multimedia.
I am never wrong. I am simply misinterpreted.

I also think a lot of people that are coming here for help are probably coming from windows because their gentoo is not working properly or something. I know when I first started on this adventure, I mainly visited the site from Windows because I was unable to get into gentoo, or get X running, or whatever.

Currently and slowly shifting every single box onto Gentoo at home. Was forced to use Win95OSR1 ( 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O ) at my previous school last semester, in which I brang my small P-II over and woo'ed everyone with Gnome's slutty GUI.

Coming into this semester, I will have to start working on Win2K computers. But I don't mind it half as much, as the Sysadmin at this school (I was at it a year ago but had to switch due to family issues) -cares- about the machines. IIRC, he personally uses FreeBSD.

That's one of the funniest typos I've ever seen  A freudian slip maybe?

BTW, Gentoo here. The cash registers where I work use Windows, but I can't access the forums from them. :?
What is the best [insert-type-of-program-here]?
