Cant emerge qmail

This a error I just don't understand.
And also is it true that Qmail is also a smtp server or do I need some else as a smtp server.

Something is providing virtual/mta - look in /var/cache/edb/virtuals to find out what (I'll guess ssmtp). You will need to unmerge it before qmail will install. And yes, the qmail ebuild will give you an SMTP server.
