Zap2It is using MD5 digest authentication. wget cannot do that unless it is compiled with ssl support.

Mythfilldatabase is working now.

EDIT: I re-entered my username and password and now it works. Same name and password! Go figure!

I upgraded a while ago from mythtv CVS...

It seems that for North America anyways that they have switched serivces for getting the listings... Its now ZapIt or something like that.. You will have to sign up for an account, but its free.. You will have to renew the account occasionally by filling out surveys..

Is there a choice not to use zap2it?

I know it slower, but how about the option not to have a user account to grab your listings?

I tried to figure out what am I supposed to do to make the mythfilldatabase working without success.

Someone on this thread said to enter user/password in the xmltv listings grabber field while running the mythsetup program. I don't know for you, but for me, this is an option menu from which I have to pick up a country choice. There is no way to enter a user/password field anywhere in this panel.

When I am running the mythfilldatabase program, I am getting the following for each selected channel when subscribing to the Zap2It.com listings:

zap2it page format looks okay, but no programs found (no available data yet ?)
unretry-able error reading schedule for 2004-7-18 for station 48 CBNEW
....

Of course, these two lines are repeated for each channel and this sequence appears many times while running the mythfilldatabase program (don't know if this is retries or something like that).

However, I can run the perl script from Zap2It and dump the xtvd.xml file in my filetree.

What am I doing wrong?

Forget my last comment. I just find out emerge was installing version 0.13 instead of the lastest available version 0.15. I reinstalled with version 0.15 and everything is working fine.

I have a work around: use tv_grab_na_dd --configure <your mythtv channel setup> --output <dest>

then do
mythfilldatabase --file 0 1 <dest>

It give you a warning that you shouldn't call tv_grab_na_dd, but I got all my listings back.

I still don't know why calling mythfildatabase doesn't work though...

I'm having the same problem. What I noticed is that it seems to download part of the file then craps out. This also happened with Firefox when I first tried to set the lineup for my account. I could log in, but after that, clicking anything gives "The session has expired. Please login again." The only way I could get on long enouch to set the lineup was with Konqueror. I don't know what it is that Konqueror does that makes the session last longer but I bet that's the problem. So...if anyone's got any ideas how to fix that one, I sure as hell don't.
