Switch easily between two env.d configurations

Hello,

I'm trying to switch between a regular qt and a qt-embedded configuration. I need to build certain packages using qt-embedded variables, whilst others need regular qt. How can I solve this ?

One solution would be to create a qt-embedded user that has the same priviledges as root, so I can set the .bashrc to take the necessary environment variables and emerge/execute qt-embedded applications with this user. I tried this and added the user to groups root and portage, but emerge keeps complaining : emerge: root access required.

Has anyone got any other ideas how to tackle this problem ?

OK, I might as well adapt the different ebuilds I want to use with qt-embedded to set the environment specifically.
