Signed.

Even if WoW doesn't get a native Linux client, I for one won't be sad, as Warcraft III runs flawlessly under Wine with the -opengl switch. Hell, apparently some guy at Blizzard is working on a special Wine installer for WoW.

Sorry, but online petitions are useless. Not signing.

Blizzard games are so well programmed that u can assume they will work in WINE for example, they follow the standards.

Wrong. Some guy who's talked to a guy at blizzard has made an install script that uses wine.

And I to think that online petitions are not going to make someone move thier game to Linux. But if they are riding the fence on a descision to maybe try porting I think community feedback is very important.

By the way, has anyone try to slashdot that Linux petion? I would like to see WoW be the first native MMORPG for linux. I know I for one, will buy the first game to make a native MMORPG just to show my suport fro the open community and to promote Linux as a gaming platform.

The ONLY reason I use Windows is because I am a gamer.

Apparently someone from Loki is working on WoW at Blizzard and would be able to do the port from the Mac OS X version if there was enough interest.

Still, the word is spreading fast. Today the counter is at 4636. WOW!! That's ~300 in less than 24 hours. Well, some of them might not be real, but anyway, this means almost 10.000 people/month (a rough estimate)

This is great, wish it happened more often.

Blizzard are an important one to crack. Id and Atari (yes, and Bioware) are all (sort of) on board. But with Blizzard doing their titles we'd have a nice variety available.

Well, after the release of cedega I don't know how this might affect blizzards consideration... cause wow is said to be playable with it!

right, this is why petitions don't work. people jump the bandwagon of "OMG ANTI PETITION". more and more native linux ports will never work if linux users do not unite and try to let companies know that there ARE linux users that care for what they sell. mmkay?

I signed up for the european WoW-betatest a couple of days ago.
I was surprised to see Linux on the list of selectable operating systems.
I don't know how Blizzard is going to handle this... Could be a native version? Are they going to give betatesters a copy of Cedega?

EDIT:
Fixed some typos

We need to know more about this, if they really prepare the good solution (a linux native client) it will be so great !!

It would indeed be nice to have a company like Blizzard supporting linux. Now let's start a HL² petition :)
Real programmers don't document. If it was hard to write, it should be hard to understand.
