I can get to packages.gentoo.org OK, but if I try to search, I get the Google "We're sorry... ... but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now." error, without the option of doing a captcha. I know MY machine is not sending anything to Google, and I doubt my wife's machine is, so is there anything I can do? I expect no help from my ISP, and I doubt I'll get much useful info from Google. |

I'm getting that as well and I'm definitely not sending spam queries, so they must be blocking the custom search.
EDIT: in fact, I can't use any /custom searches. It's probably a Google issue.
EDIT again: there's lots of people reporting the same issue today for other sites as well on the Google support boards |

Fortunately, I can still do an advanced search of packages.gentoo.org from the google home page. |

Hey there. I've noticed that I cannot make a serch on packages.gentoo.org because of the following error.
Quote: | Google
Sorry...
We're sorry...
... but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now.
See Google Help for more information.

Has anyone experienced something similar ? I noticed that about a week ago and I just thought to myself that it's google's fault. Now I am not sure anymore. |

I have the same problem, but I've only tried to use it today. There isn't enough information to know if it is my computer or the packages website. But as I watch the packets in Wireshark I don't see anything that would be automated queries. |

This google error is few days old already ...
Why does not PGO adopt znurt.org code ? _________________ "Dear Enemy: may the Lord hate you and all your kind, may you be turned orange in hue, and may your head fall off at an awkward moment."

I'm still getting this. Works fine if I search in google for "{package} gentoo" - most of the time I end up there anyway! Bit of a pain though no being able to use the interface though. _________________ The United States has announced that it will deploy thoughts and prayers in the battle against online extremism.

I think /custom has been deprecated in favour of the full-on Google CSE service or something. Any search at all with /custom yields the error. |
