PostPosted: Sat Apr 11, 2009 8:40 pm    Post subject: Report violations, duplicates, misplaced posts, etc. Reply with quote

This will allow an easy method of contacting all moderators at one time.
  • Users:
    • If you spot what you believe to be a duplicate post, please post a link to it here. In addition, include a link to what is being duplicated.
    • If you find a post you think belongs in a different forum, let us know.
    • Avoid multiple reports of spam:
      • If a user's posts are all spam, report the user, not the posts.
      • Review this thread after submitting a report. Please delete your report if someone beat you to the punch.
    • Any other post that you think requires moderation (violations of Guidelines, broken BBcode, etc.).

  • Moderators:
    • Please delete posts after you've addressed them.
Thanks in advance.

User: LIsLinuxIsSogood
Topic: Pulseaudio Deslexia
Post: post 8145946
Reason: I am not sure why, or how, my account is associated with this situation. The recent posts I am referring to on this site that appear to have been sent using my login name, but were actually a spam bot (that was pointed out by Moderator already in this post... https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1071736-highlight-.html and in this post ) And while it looks like previously the posting from a user by the name of LinensRange786 was using my login to do the spamming, which I don't really know what is the matter with that. However it recently looks like it could be actually stemming from my own user account with my personal login name. Although I could be mistaken, I would appreciate any help in figuring out when and if there are posts that are not stemming from my computer and if need be rebuilding my account on the site.

FYI, feel free to remove this thread, titled "Moving Window with help of keyboard shortcut (SOLVED oops :)"

https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1071736-highlight-.html

It does not do any good as part of the forum as it was solved prior to any response being posted, and I would be fine to have it be removed from the forum if it were up to me.

More hyperbole and frankly, idiocy. Nothing could be further from the truth, but I'm not interested to engage in that discussion. The support forums are not there to care for out-of-tree issues that are a result of your feedback loop.

Topic: why emerge --depclean un-emerges the current kernel
Post: post 8164044
Reason: I really like this discussion with asturm, while i still think it's related because portage shouldn't tell user to use depclean, i'm agreeing too, that maybe it might get too technical or appears too much like if asturm & i were discussing in front of a warm fire :)
So, i won't be against a split if anyone is thinking a split might be need :)
But i think i still want to clear thiese question : "do depclean is more than just a space saving tool" and "should portage stop recommending to use it in a way users think it's critical to run it".
So i will stop complain each time a user use depclean blindly in any threads (which some may find golden that i shut up on depclean)

Reason: looks like a spam prelude (with a post probably cut and pasted from somewhere else on the forum). Anyhow, totally disconnected to the thread, and a first post ... so.

Reason: POSSIBLE spam. User has made two other related posts, cusses a lot and says some strange things. I might be wrong, it just looks odd.

No, its "offtopic" if what I'm replying to, or your charge of, "offtopic", "eternal conflict", "false ground", etc, doesn't warrant reply, but ok, you want to be the one to define what that right of reply is, so, I'll take the ulm defence: we don't force you to use the forum if you don't like it ... sickening isn't it?
