try re-emering flash
Code: |
emerge -va adobe-flash
|
if that doesn't work try the testing version
Code: |
echo "www-plugins/adobe-flash ~x86" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords
|
or ~amd64 if you are using a 64 bit gentoo
and then emerge flash to update _________________ Increasingly becoming a 2 channel audio nut! |

Hello Bob
I had before in my package.keywords the line you suggested:
www-plugins/adobe-flash ~amd64
I had open FF wile emerging, so I closed it, and restarted my laptop.
Still nothing...
Here is the output:
Code: | C6820s ~ # emerge -va adobe-flash
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

You have 2 choices at the moment, you can either emerge a 32bit browser like firefox-bin and use 32bit flash with that or emerge nspluginwrapper to use 32bit flash in 64bit browser. Using nspluginwrapper is discouraged but still works.
I did see a thread about adobe releasing a new 64bit flashplayer so this might not be an issue for long, not sure if it's in portage yet. |

and actually adobe just anounced the release of a native 64 bit flash. This should be in portage or an overlay (if not already) soon. _________________ Increasingly becoming a 2 channel audio nut! |

UAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
It works!!!
ok, First I did this:
Code: | # emerge adobe-flash-10.2.161.22_pre20100915 |
but this gave me no such build or something familiar.
Than I did this:
Code: | # emerge --update --deep --newuse --keep-going world |
And in between was flash, yes!
Now, I have a follow up question,
is it wise to do this:
Code: | # emerge --depclean
# revdep-rebuild |
in order to clean my gentoo?
Thank you. _________________ Kind regards, Goran Mitic
