Whenever I'm modelling in Blender, my system frequently pauses. If I have music running in the background it stops playing. This lasts a few seconds and then everything continues as normal.
This doesnt happen with any Games that I play under Linux, so far only in blender and only when Im modelling. There doesnt seem to be a specific move that causes it. Simply pushing vertices around and every couple of minutes the system pauses. There dont seem to be any relevant messages in my logs as far as I can tell.
On my old PC this was never a problem.
My current specs are:
Intel Quad Core Q6600
8GB Ram
Nvidia 8600GT SLI
Gentoo 64bit.
My Old Specs for comparison:
Athlon XP 2600
2GB Ram
Nvidia 6200GS
Gentoo 32bit
I have tried deactivating SLI and a bunch of other tweaks but nothing seems to help.
I dont know if this is a Driver problem, a Gentoo problem or a Blender problem. |
