Im a ppc user. I am following the alsa install guide, I have arrived at the "type amixer" section of the tutorial. When I type this it says "Mixer attach default error: no such file or directory". So I type insmod snd-mixer-oss and insmod snd-pcm-oss but all I get are a bunch (~30) of unresolved symbol errors. Can any one help? Thanks in advance. |

Ok, I have continued to play with this sound problem. I used modprobe instead of insmod and was able to get both commands to work. Although snd-mixer-oss said some errors occured (it didnt specify). After that amixer ran fine. Then I ran "amixer set Master 100 unmute" which worked, but when I tried Quote: | "amixer set PCM 100 unmute" | the following was returned Quote: | "amixer: unable to find simple control 'PCM, 0'" |
Unfortunately sound still does not work. Any help? |
