easy automatic printing of raster images?

What is my best option for easy printing of raster images that people send to me by email? I would like to be able to print any typical format (gif,png,tiff,jpeg). The image should be scaled automatically if it is to small and printed on a postscript printer. Ideally it should also be rotated if the ratio fits better the landscape orientation.

Currently I would use gimp or firefox, but the results are not very good (in particular one has to do a lot manually for each image, and no easy command line use).
