Hello!
I have installed Gentoo 2006.0 from minimal cd. all works great. no errors. followed alot of howtos from gentoo.no/doc/en/ (i'm starting to learn gentoo... neat system!! )
I want a GUI. And I want KDE. I'm following
Gentoo's KDE config.
Frist, i tried to put in dbus and hal to make mounting in KDE easy. That failed:
# emerge --noreplace dbus hal

Then I thought I could Install KDE and perhaps do dbus/hal at a later timer. So i merged some kde packages
# emerge kdebase kdenetwork kdeadmin
That failed too:

For your dbus/hal problem:
You should test, if you have the file /usr/lib/libpng12.la
Else, you should emerge libpng first.
I think, this would also solve your problem in ghostscript-gpl |

I dont have /usr/lib/libpng12.la, but i do have /usr/lib/libpng12.a.
I tried to emerge libpng, then dbus/hal. But same problem. |
