For some reason, there are spaces in the filenames. Also, the initramfs and the kernel appear to be identical sizes. That is *very* unlikely. I think your kernel and/or initramfs files are hosed. I think the best thing you can do at this point would be to follow the instructions in the installation manual for configuring your kernel using genkernel. Give me a couple of minutes to find the details (I posted them for someone else recently) and I will post a link to them here. _________________

No, they aren't the same. I copied them wrong, and when I tried to get back in I got the error I listed for booting the cd.
For some reason, I can also no longer enter the cd. I boot "Gentoo NoX" And this happens
It loads up before booting as usual but gets stuck at Code:
Code: | "Kernel Panic - not syncing Attempted to kill init!" |

Sounds like you might have a bad cd. I couldn't find my post with the instructions I was looking for. You might be better off just downloading the minimal install cd and doing a manual stage3 installation as detailed in the installation manual. _________________

The cd has worked over 15 times fold... Perhaps it's the boot I used? Gentoo Nox ? _________________ The box said Windows XP or better, so I installed Linux. |
