Subtitles while playing a DivX ?

Hi all!

i'm thinking of start using Gentoo, but I still have some questions before I give it a go.

Are there programs that can show subtitles (.srt, .sub, ...) while playing a DivX movie? If yes, what is the name of the package.

Both xine and mplayer can use subtitles. Just check the docs for them on how to use it.

As said, mplayer shows them great. Rename the .srt or .sub file like the .avi one and turn on/off subtitles with 'V' key.
