can you explain a bit more what you mean by "ugly and cuted"?
the dvd audio channels are different from the regular audio channels that mp3 and cd playback use. have you checked all the channels in your mixer (alsamixer in a terminal, or enable all the channels in your gnome volume control app) to make sure they're at reasonable levels? also, are you using 5.1 surround speakers or regular stereo speakers? if you only have stereo speakers, make sure xine is not configured to play back dvd audio in 5.1 surround. |

In the xine-ui, set your configuration options at least to expert, go to the audio tab, and instead of alsa select esd, see if that solves your problem. |
