not able to get it working
alsaconf detects it correctly
says it will load snd-hda-intel driver
increased vol in alsamixer and kmix is also showing the correct device and vol also
but no sound is coming
mplayer xmms not showing any error ( /dev/dsp busy types)
freshly installed gentoo system
lsmod shows

did you start alsamixer and unmute (press 'm') everything important?
also, what does this command say: Quote: | /etc/init.d/alsasound restart |

Please post the output of "amixer" as well, so we can have a look at your mixer settings. On some cards you have to unmute some special mixer control first (the names of the mixer controls are not always accurate). |
