|
|
I have an sblive! 5.1, i have alsa-driver 1.09 installed OUTSIDE of my kernel.
I have my front audio coming from rear ports because the chip on rear has higher quality sound. The problem is that I can only change volume by change the "wave surround" channel.
I want to know how I can either swap the front and rear channels or link Master to Wave Surround. |

You might want to check asoundrc documentation available on alsa-project website, especially the part about bindings and ttable.
good luck _________________ fumo~ |

can someone now explain some of that. I'm still a noob at linux, and alot of that stuff is too confusing.
I wish I had the KX-DSP for linux.
Should I post the emu10k1 alsa conf? |

Hey guys I have a protip I discovered which works for my SBLive! CT4780
If you just have stereo speakers, you can get black-jack-sound on easymode because simply sending stereo audio to this sends sound out the black AND green jacks.
The only mixer control which has any* effect on stereo audio sent out the black jack in this manner is "Wave Surround" ("Surround" is concerning actual 'rear' channels sent to the device as such)
*I lied; the EQ ("Tone", "Bass", "Treble" controls) still functions :^)
I actually have my good headphones plugged into the black port and my speakers plugged into the green port; you can control which jack the sound is coming from at while a stream is running this way with just ALSA by changing the mixer controls to mute/unmute the appropriate jacks (I use PulseAudio personally as a mixer since the all-volume-controls-unified and quick profile-switching is nice; but this setup still works perfectly for pure ALSA clients connecting to the hw device, and it would be nearly trivial to write a script to handle the mixer controlling jack-switching without Pulse)
P.S., yes I do see how old this thread is, but to be fair, nothing has changed regarding the state of this sound card since then. |
