Weird xmms/esd problem

Hi guys

I'm using esd, but now I have a weird xmms problem. If I am playing xmms and close the (xmms) program, then the sound continues anyway. I have to run "killall xmms" to stop it.

Any ideas?

Edit: ok, this problem has got even weirder. I decided to stop using esd if it was going to be weird. Now, however, I get the same problem even when I change xmms back to using ALSA (which worked fine before). To add to the fun, if I even open xmms, then Gkrellm indicates that my CPU usage has jumped to 99% (which it didnt before). It only drops back down when I kill xmms from the console. AAAARG!
