I try starting ogg123 at the command and I get this error
Code:
=== Could not load default driver and no driver specified in config file. Exiting
.
I have search the forums and all I oculd find that help was this thread here https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=116912&highlight=ogg123+config+file

I have tried to emerge libao, like it suggest and it still doesn't work. I have also tried to emerge libogg libvorbis vorbis-tools in that order and still no go.

I don't know when it stopped playing .ogg but mpg123 still works great. I have been messing with my sound a lot trying to get dmix to work and I have a asound.conf, but I don't think that would prevent ogg123 from finding its config files.

Any help, ideas or suggestions woudl be greatly appreciated, I am stuck.

[edit]after trying to run ogg123 with -d also or oss or dsp or anything, i get a error saying it can't find the device. I beleive this might a problem with the new libao[/edit]

After a bit of reading, I tried to create the file /etc/libao.conf with the lind default_driver=alsa, and I still get the same error message.

I am going to go search bugzilla and see what I can find.

Okay well I downgraded labo from .84-r1 to just .84 and now I get ogg123 to output

Code:
Audio Device:   Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA) output

Cannot open music/Fuel/Fuel--Natural_Selection/Fuel.01.Quarter.ogg.

This is a good start for me and it is 2 in the morining here so I am stopping here.

Okay and now for a another twist, it will play some files but not other. Even from the same cd. I ripped the songs from abcde and only one or two songs from a cd will play now?

As anybody got any ideas.

And now I can play them through xmms or cplay, but not with ogg123 from the command line.

I am confused, big time.
