I have a problem forcing mplayer to use Alsa... No errors what so ever.... It has something to do with this thread (https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=135772) but I can't figure out the main problem...

Help is wanted.

Since you're running KDE, you should emerge kmplayer: it's the GUI for mplayer for KDE. It also comes with the necessary plugins for ALSA as well as ARTS. If you're running ARTS in KDE, select that plugin instead of ALSA.
