I have installed gentoo on my new notebook, the old one is gone - with ALL datas! So i also need a eMail Client. I use Thunderbird before, but i got some issues: the profile was old, sometimes i got problems with the pop3 authentification and if i search for a eMail it doesn't show me the directory of the eMail. So maybe i want to use another one, like kMail / Evolution / SeaMonkey or others.
Someone got the adress book syncroned with nextcloud? Which one do you prefer and why? |

Hello,
Your issue seems to be that old profile.
Maybe it's time to start a new and fresh one, connect your mailbox to it and it's done ?
Or maybe because it's POP3 (someone still using that…?).
Then I guess you could re-import all of them into a new profile.
In the end, the only MUA that please me is Thunderbird.

Happy user of kmail here. However, I can't say anything about synchronization with nextcload (since I don't have it). I do also POP3 ... no problem. _________________ https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/User:Pietinger |

I;m on evolution, it is not terrible, but it could be better. Still, last time I've been looking for a replacement I ended up with a conclusion that I'd have to it myself to have it done the way I want it.
I miss Disconnected IMAP which used to be a thing, AFAIR nothing supported gmail's labels properly either, and I had a bunch of other complains I can't remember right now.
At least the GUI is reasonably designed in terms of convenience, though it is gnome-ugly too. _________________ Make Computing Fun Again |

Using Claws with POP3 and 2 email accounts on different providers. The only issues I have are the poor support of POP3 at one provider. Claws is maybe a bit old fashioned but it is simple. It was also reasonably easy to migrate everything from setup to setup. _________________ Expert in non-working solutions |
