Python wheels are new standard to replace python eggs.
Question is how is gentoo ready to work with whl files?
I have ebuild which compiles tensorflow via bazel which produces .whl file, but after this I use pip to install it. This is not best way of course, but can someone point me to some example ebuild or demonstrate how to install whl file using Gentoo ebuild classes for python.
Python wheels are supported by both pip and setuptools:

Thank you very much for hints to make it working without pip. _________________ Emperor wants to control outer space Yoda wants to explore inner space that's the fundamental difference between good and bad sides of the Force |
