|
|
The "Line In - Built-in Audio" device does not input any audio. My computer plays sound normally, but I cannot hear music from my phone plugged into line-in.
The following command does not fix the issue
pacmd load-module module-loopback
Things I've tried with no success:
- Raised and unmuted all capture and playback channels for all devices
- Adjusted sliders / unmuted in GNOME Settings -> Sound
- Adjusted sliders / unmuted in Pulse Audio Volume Control
- Confirmed my phone was playing audio
- Confirmed my phone was plugged into the blue line-in port.
[/list]
Other Notes:
- The "Input Level" indicator remains at zero.
- If I reboot into Knoppix (without unplugging my phone), I hear my music playing from my phone.
Why is my "line-in" not inputting audio?
OR
What other information do you need?

sdz,
How many audio jack do you have on your PC.
Enough for all the inputs and output or not?
Some motherboard 'multiplex' functions so you need to set the multiplexer up it the default setting is not what you want.
For inputs, they need to be unmuted, just like outputs.
Further, the sound card will only work with one input at a time. Be sure to select line in. _________________ Regards,

Solution: Change the Channel Mode Playback channel in alsamixer to 2ch.
When the Channel Mode is not set to 2ch, then Line-In does not input any audio. I had the channel set to 6ch when playing around with a surround sound system recently.
I may someday work on getting analog-in to work with surround-out but not today. |
