Hello
Squirrelmail is to slow for me. Some of my folders timeout constantly so it's almost unusable here. I need something fast with imap support.

Well, there are other other packages like Horde-Imp in portage. Its seems odd to me that squirrelmail would be at fault for timing out folders though. |

Using what IMAP server? There are some issues with UW IMAP.
See also: SquirrelMail Wiki BrowseProblemsByPhpError which offers a way to extend the timeout imposed by PHP.

I'll take a look about the timeout. Thanks Chris W.
I'm running my e-mail server on a K6 500MHz, and the folders that timeout are huge (+3500 messages.)

i have the same server setup almost exactly (same CPU too!)
apart from i use pop3 and imap together so i never have a log of emails in the folder when i check it through squirrelmail |

First Horde is a bitch  Hard to configure and it feels feature-less.
Second, thanks again to "Chris W." I've made: | Code: | | max_execution_time = 120 |
in /etc/apach2/conf/php.ini and konqueror to keep the connection open for about the same time. That way I was able to read (with Squirrelmail) my linux-kernel folder which is ~14000 messages right now.
