Hi all

I can't make sane see my network scanner (HP 4670, cups does see the printer).

$ hp-check -t gives an error in the scan configuration part:

-----------------------
| Scan Configuration |
-----------------------

error: NOT FOUND OR FAILED TO LOAD! Please reinstall HPLIP and check for the proper installation of scanext.
error: scanext Scan-SANE-Extension REQUIRED - 3.16.3 MISSING 'scanext needs to be installed'

There is hpaio in /etc/scan.d/dll.conf, but no hpaio in /etc/sane.d/dll.d/ (there's nothing there).

Thanks

You should provide at least some info about your setup, like emerge -pv hplip and emerge --info.

Ok, here:

Code:

emerge -pv hplip

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Did you look at the output yourself? You have USE=-scanner.

Problem solved after adding USE="scanner" to /etc/portage/make.conf.
