Im currently using a 2.4.20 kernel, and a 3c905b NIC. My switch says the card isnt using full duplex capability. I heard something about placing a options=20 fullduplex=1 somewhere.
Any help? Thx |

Yes - first use mii-tool to determine what Linux thinks about it - it will give you all possible link options as well when fed the appropriate switch.
Some 3com cards are regrettably Windoze-stubborn, and sometimes (I have had to do this once) the only way to get it to go FD is to boot up with a DOS floppy, and run the config from the 3com web site to set the card to autodetect instead of forced HD (as mine was).
Stupid? Yes. |
