~x86 (or any other ~ARCH) means this is a "testing" package. It takes some time for a new version of a software to get "stable" (x86), which means there have to be no stability or security issues for some time. If you need this package NOW, add "=package_name-version_number ~x86" to your /etc/portage/package.keywords. If you dont need it now, wait for the package version to stabilize. _________________ Video Encoding scripts collection | Project page |

Hallo!
It means that this package is masked for the x86 architecture.
Check here and there for more information.
