Hi, it would be almost one year, I am enjoying small cursors (gentoo-blue) on my Gentoo box with KDE and few Gtk applications - everytime in same size.

I have set in /usr/local/share/cursors/xorg-x11/default
Code:
[Icon Theme]
Inherits=gentoo-blue

Today I decided to try new Firefox, so I have to upgrade gtk+ from version 2.6.10-r1 to 2.8.9. So updated packages are: glib pango gtk+ mozilla-firefox.

Everything is fine, but gentoo-blue cursors are now too big (maybe 2 times bigger) in GTK apps like Firefox, aMule, old Thunderbird, vlc, nvu.

In KDE apps they are still same - nicely small and also are still small in few GTK apps like gftp, gmplayer, gimp, gvidcap.

Is there someting what I can do, to have gentoo-blue cursors same size for all application? Thanks

Although this particular solution may not suit you, it's how I alter my cursor, and I'm in Xfce4 using mostly all GTK apps, and I can control my cursor size pretty well.

All I've done to use my blueglass cursor is added the following lines to my ~/.Xdefaults:
Code:
Xcursor.theme: Blue
Xcursor.size: 40

You might want to try modifying your .Xdefaults like that (changing the size to something that suits your KDE style).

Thanks for reply,

so I tried to create .Xdefaults and you are right, I am able to control size of my gentoo-blue cursors for most of my apps. But Firefox, vlc, aMule seems doesnt care about this file - size is still same, wheather I put there to line Xcursor.size: 16 or 40.

Thanks, I am giving it up. I spend few hours here on forum, read lots of opinion and many config files, but without luck.

Put this in ~/.gtkrc-2.0
Code:
gtk-cursor-theme-size = 16

That's how it works for me.

Gusar, many thanks, thats it.

I did only one exeption, becouse last lines of my .gtkrc-2.0 contain
Code:
include "/home/radfoj/.gtkrc.mine"

# -- THEME AUTO-WRITTEN DO NOT EDIT

So I created gtkrc.mine and put line you suggest and great, Firefox aMule and vlc is now using small cursor I wish

Thanks once more
