I am using evilwm and some desktop applications like fspanel and asclock.
However, one drawback of evilwm is that when I maximize a window, fbpanel and asclock are covered up.
Is there any generic X tool which can set a window stay on top all the time perferably with a keyboard shortcut? |

There isn't one, that I know of. Besides which, it would have to set and modify an Xatom within the application, and then manage it --- the job of the window manager is usually to do this. That said, "xwit" _might_ do what you want, but I doubt it.
