Posted: Wed Jun 19, 2002 4:58 am Post subject: startx errors

My XF86Config file is correct and will start with XFree86 but when I try to use startx it gives me this error. xauth: error while loading shared libraries: libXmu.so.6: cannot open shared objedt fiel: No such file or directory the file is in /usr/X11R6/lib. Any help would be appreciated

You may want to make sure that XFree86 has the correct permissions

-rws--s--x 1 root root 1673396 Jun 2 16:14 XFree86
(can be done by doing chmod a+s to it)

And while you're at it, don't forget to add:

defaultserverargs="-nolisten tcp"

to the startx script if you're going to be using it.
