|
|
I'm okay with most things but networking is a mystery to me. I have two computers, one connected to the internet by Cable Modem the other a laptop. They both have internal WLAN cards, co-incidentally both Intersil Prism3 connected by USB.
Has anyone actually managed to get one of these working, and could you suggest the best way of making use of them? _________________ Gentoo, PCLOS-pre-81a and Windows 98SE.

Not sure about the cards but if you get them working try:
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=122435
for wireless configuration scripts (start wireless interface by /etc/init.d/net.<iface> or on startup) _________________ Life it seems, will fade away

Been there, posted there, couldn't get it going and eventually Uberlord said that his system does not work with linux-wlan-ng, the driver used by Intersil Prism3. That is why I am after a reply from someone who has actually got one working! _________________ Gentoo, PCLOS-pre-81a and Windows 98SE.
