Anyone got a USB Intersil Prism3 wlan interface working?

I'm okay with most things but networking is a mystery to me. I have two computers, one connected to the internet by Cable Modem the other a laptop. They both have internal WLAN cards, co-incidentally both Intersil Prism3 connected by USB.

Has anyone actually managed to get one of these working, and could you suggest the best way of making use of them?

for wireless configuration scripts (start wireless interface by /etc/init.d/net.<iface> or on startup)

Been there, posted there, couldn't get it going and eventually Uberlord said that his system does not work with linux-wlan-ng, the driver used by Intersil Prism3. That is why I am after a reply from someone who has actually got one working!
