Do you really need a GUI for ping and nslookup? I am not sure anyone bothered creating one but I may be wrong.
Anyway you can use ping and host/dig (or even nslookup but it's deprecated) in the console.
If you want a visual traceroute program, there is one in java called VisualRoute or something like that.

Well I work for a hosting company and we use ws ping pro for Windows. I'm doing lookup whois etc all day so its easy to copy paste and click.

I'm working for home on my Gentoo Box so I was just wonder if theres a similare program for X or KDE

I noticed that there was a tool called KNU that came with earlier versions of KDE but cant find it any more.

I'm surprised these tools are not part the KDE internet or network tools

Cheers

Tim

Heh, if it's a matter of being able to copy&paste, that's what the select buffer is for.

Just highlight the domain you want to look up, type whois/host/dig/etc, hit space and then press your middle mouse button (or your right and left at the same time if you have no middle mouse) and voila.. easy copy and paste! ;)

And if you need to transpose a set of text to someplace else, you can do the same thing from your xterm to another window.

Thanks KNetScan does the job for whois. All it needs it nslookup :o)

Maybe I could make my own with a commandline to GUI app
I have seen this kind of program before

Anyone have suggestions ?

Cheers
