So I am emerging the entire gnome environment. Out of the ~200 packages that entails, there seems to be about 50 of them that experience this issue. Should I file a bug for each one or is this a ...

distcc/libtool: Waiting for --shave-mode=compile.o.lock

I'm attempting to use distcc because I'm installing Gentoo on a slow system.

Certain packages (i.e. gnome-menus) returns the following error message over and over and doesn't go anywhere:

libtool: compile: Waiting for --shave-mode=compile.o.lock to be removed

Apple recently released the "iPhone Configuration Web Utility" for both Mac OS X and Windows but because it's written in ruby, runs natively in Linux.

Here's how I got it working:

1. I ...

Please note, in order for this to work with kernel 2.6.26, vanilla-sources-2.6.26-git6 or greater is required. This will NOT work -rc1 which is currently in portage.

x11-libs/gtk+ ~x86
dev-util/gtk-doc-am ~x86

3. Install gconf-sharp: emerge -av gconf ...
