I have got the same problem as you with kwrite and dolphin. What is weird is that other kde apps like kate, konsole, don't have this problem.
I suppressed the kde folder and the first launch is ok but if I close the app and open it again then I'm back in fullscreen and the F11 key doesn't work.

wonderful, It worked just fine......I had to
rm /etc/init.d/xdm
and then emerge xinit and I had my good xdm back

Hi
could someone would be kind enough to tell me how I could undo my stupid mistake !?! with the "xf86-input-evdev" problem I deleted the xdm to have access to the console and now I can't "startx" correctly anymore.
I managed to find a XDM from 2003, so when I "startx" it launch a basic graphic ...

thanks NeddySeagoon,

When I insert a disk and do "dmesg" there is no information about any scsi disk and I looked in /dev and found nothing...
Any clue on how I could get it working or what am I doing wrong ?

So stupid I just ad to "modprobe imm" and then I can access manualy to the zip drive

[SOLVED]need help with ZIP250 parallel

Hello

I can't make my ZIP250 (parallel) work under my gentoo AMD64
I have a Kernel: linux-2.6.23-gentoo-r3
UDEV
and I activated the SCSI emul and "everything" which was needed but I still have nothing
Any help would be really appreciated

Ok, I deactivated the hdparm but it did nothing, just slowing the freezing !!!
I change hdb to hdc, but still nothing, I checked with windows and it looks like it doesn't work neither.....last time I checked it did, but that was a long time ago, so I'm starting to wonder if it's not a hardware ...

This is the command I use to try to get my DVDs working, but all I have got is this answer for all DVD-RWs (but again those same DVD-RW work perfectly under windows)

ATAPI device hdb:

Sadly with windows it works nicely, I have this problem from a long time and now I really need to use it under linux so I tried to find some solutions, but I could not find anything which could give me a hint on the problem !!!

Currently I have no entries in the fstab, and only CD/CD-RW is working. Nothing works for DVD/DVD-rw (commercial or others)

Yes I have iso9660 in my kernel, and libdvdcss 1.2.9

The CD/DVD I try to read or write are OK, they are readable under windows but when I try with linux I got this message from "dmesg

I have an ATAPI CD/DVD Writer "PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-106D" and my system finds it, but actually thats all!!!
When I try to mount it with "mount /dev/hdb /media/cdrecorder" it fails, asking me the type and format of the media

Yiiipiiie it works

Well, when I unpluged, then repluged, my system freezed, but the modification to the kernel worked and now, I can use the mouse.
