A pam rebuild and /etc/init.d/xdm stop; killall kdm; /etc/init.d/xdm start; solved everything for me.
As our logs differ quite much, I don't think we have nearly the same issue, or I mean "had" ;) since yours is solved.

I am not at the computer until about 7 - 8 hours but then I'll recheck the ...

[SOLVED]Cannot login from login manager, KDM

Hello hi there... It's been like three years since I logged in here, and my account (the profile) was still here. How generous... My posts are all gone, but who cares. They are outdated ;)

I am installing gentoo on my new zepto laptop and I have a problem that I have never run into with gentoo ...

recursive prefetching with wget

I am trying to pregenerate page cache on my website by prefetching everything with wget.

However it doesn-t work as expected. I use -r -l3 to recurseively fetch links up to a depth of 3.
But only one page gets downloaded. All pages I need to load recursively are specified like this:

SOLVED by upgrading to latest kernel 2.6.15-gentoo-r1, which forced me to upgrade baselayout first, due to the udev stuff.
I am not sure what fixed the problem, but I am glad to see ntpd survives the user switch now.

Note that I do not have CONFIG_SECURITY_CAPABILITIES as a module. It is compiled ...

reviving an old thread.

So, the db is missing. But there must be a way to create it. I mean, when dowloading a deb, part of the intention is to have dpkg tracking it so it can be easily removed later, don't you think?

There must be a way.

I did the same as you, DISPLAY=:$1 kdesktop &

I tried konqueror from an icon in kicker, and it started. Here's a screenshot:

An easier solution would be that KDE allows you to set custom setting for every application. If you click on the title bar of your video playing application or other you can set the Opacity to 100% and thus removing the compositive extention from that window. This solution has worked fine for me so ...

It makes it more puzzling, because in my xorg.cfg is
Option "Composite" "Enable"

[SOLVED] dhcpd / named: update failed: RRset exists

I had it working before, but since I got a new laptop I cannot get it right. I am suffering some problems ...

PHP 4.4.0-r1 Segfaults on my script. SECURITY ?

I have managed to make php-4.4.0-r1 Segfault during some crazy object juggling.
I can provide the complete script. I am not sure what causes the crash but at least I know in which function.

It isn't very large so I figure giving it all to some devs.

I guess a segfault is some kind of a security ...

in /var/vpopmail/domains/domainname/ we need to make a .qmail file for each user you want to filter spam for.
to test this out i made a test user to play with until this was up and running.
.qmail-username should contain

Hi,
just in case you still have not found what you're looking for...

First you might have a look at JadeX sources ( http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-320611.html ). Just stay away from using reiser4 (see http://bhhdoa.org.au/pipermail/ck/2005-January/002389.html although this may have been ...
