MythTV Service Port not listening

Hi

Yesterday I upgraded to mythtv-0.27.1_p20140713, and started experiencing issues connecting remotely to the MythTV Service port on TCP:6544

Checking the mythbackend.log file shows that MythBackend is now only listening on the local loopback address (127.0.0.1)...

I see some problems with the "do nothing" approach. The most significant problem is that, I think, once kmymoney2 is removed from the main tree, all its kde3.5 dependencies (all its dependencies, for that matter) will be removed by "emerge --depclean" (unless those dependencies are removed from the ...

I'm currently thinking, that because kmymoney2 is in my world file, an emerge --depclean won't remove it, and also, because the required kde3.5 libs are dependencies, they won't get removed either.

So

If I do nothing, kmymody2 and required kde3.5 bits won't actually get uninstalled, they'll just ...

kMyMoney2 and KDE4

Now that KDE3 support has been deprecated, what options are there for us kMyMoney users, which as far as I can tell, still only supports KDE3?

I'm running KDE4, and an quite happy with it, and the only things that have been keeping bits of kde3 on my system have be k3b and kmymoney

As k3b for kde4 ...

I've got a Belkin F5D7000 (PCI ID 1799:700f). I tried ndiswrapper with both the belkin drivers, and those from the Realtek website, and found it extremely unpredictable. Most of the time, it failed to work on boot, but reloading the drivers got it going again.

Following advice from this thread.. I ...

I think all you need to do is edit your /etc/conf.d/apache2 and make sure you've defined USERDIR

eg.

# AUTH_DIGEST Enables mod_auth_digest
# AUTHNZ_LDAP Enables authentication through mod_ldap (available if USE=ldap)

Many thanks for the help.

Belkin F5D7000 problems with ndiswrapper

I'm using a Belkin F5D7000 pci wireless card, (PCI ID 1799:700f) which is based on the RTL8185 chipset.

At the moment, there doesn't appear to be any native drivers for this card, so I'm having to use ndiswrapper, but it seems a little tempremental.

On boot, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn ...

Well, I can confirm that it should work.

I'm using ...

gentoo-sources-2.6.23-r6
udev-115-r1
ipw2200-firmware-3.0

And it's fine.

The only difference I can think of, is that I've got the ipw2200 driver compiled as a module rather than directly into the kernel.

I also get problems with ndiswrapper, but it's not specific to 2.6.23...

I'm using a Belkin PCI card, with an RTL8185 chipset.

About 50% of the time, it just works, the other 50%, it fails (green light on the card never comes on). I then have to unload the modules, and reload by hand.

rafbzzzz is correct, you need the cx88 modules. You can also get the firmware needed for the blackbird encoder by emerging pvr-firmware.

With the HVR-1300 you may also find that once all the modules have loaded, you need to unload them and re-load again to get the card working. Otherwise all you ...

I use Belkin 11g cards which also use the RTL8185 chipset. I couldn't find any native support for my cards and had to use ndiswrapper and the windows NDIS drivers supplied with the cards.

If you search the forums for ndiswrapper you should find plenty of help setting for this up.

By default the logs goto screen, which is why you're having to watch them scroll past.

You can divert them to E-Mail by setting the PORTAGE_ELOG.... entries in your make.conf

Example - change to suit your own setup...
PORTAGE_ELOG_SYSTEM="mail"
PORTAGE_ELOG_MAILURI="root@localhost localhost ...

Have you just upgraded from an earlier version? If so, and you haven't rebooted, you'll need to reload the kernel module to get the right version into the kernel.

Code: Select all

modprobe vboxdrv
