Yeah, I definitely have ruby installed. And rdoc looks like javadoc, except for ruby, i.e. it produces documentation about code you write, not documentation about ruby functions

What do I need to emerge to get ruby's "ri" documentation command? I did some web searches and it looks like there used to be a dev-ruby/ri package, but it doesn't seem to be there anymore

When I try to send mail, qmail connects to the remote mail server and sends an "EHLO localhost" even though my FQDN seems to be set up properly. Where can I set the FQDN so qmail recognizes it?

I've got two brand-new DGE-530T gigabit ethernet cards on two different machines connected via a crossover cable. I'm using the sk98lin driver (although I've also tried the skge driver). However, when I try to emerge gvim after doing this, I still get version 6 ...

Is there a way I can get Gentoo to change the MAC address of my ethernet card before it tries to bring it up via DHCP? I know I can use ifconfig's 'hw' parameter for statically-configured net interfaces, but can I pass anything besides 'dhcp' for my iface_eth0 parameter in my conf.d/net file?

Quick question: Is there any way to tell emerge that I don't want to upgrade specific pages (e.g., Wine) when I do 'emerge -uD world'?
