At the moment cups-1.1.23_rc1 is installed, but my canon i455 (working with i550-drivers) doesn't work anymore. Solution would be downgrading to cups-1.1.22, but it isn't in portage anymore.

I still have the source of cups-1.1.22, but could anyone post the ebuild from it?

I know how to avoid it ...

I guess the the creation of the user is done by the ebuild? I will take a look into tehe ebuild.

I've searched the internet and found one similar case, but no solution or wathever.

i'm not really sure, bu maybe i have emerged Postgresql using sudo. Could that make sense?

After emerging Postgresql, i tryed to start it with:


/etc/init.d/postgresql start


That didin't work and finally i found out that in /etc/passwd the shell from the user postgres was set to /bin/false. Changing it to /bin/bash solved my problem.

The question is why it is set to /bin/false by ...

Verwijdert alle installaties waarvan een nieuwere beschikbaar is.

Heb je bv. kde-3.1.5 als huidige installatie en ook nog kde-3.1, kde-3.1.1, kde-3.1.2, kde-3.1.3 en kde-3.1.4, dan worden die keurig verwijderd.

Wat ik mij hierbij nog wel afvraag, waar staat die zooi?

I have a problem when i logout from KDE, (not shutdown, or reboot), kdm doesn't come up, but kdm/X crashes and i'm in console. Is this problem related, or not?

Ik heb xorg geinstalleerd ipv Xfree. Tot mijn stomme verbazing kwam kdm weer netjes te voorschijn, zonder enige configuratie. Pakt xorg de configfile van Xfree, als xorg.conf niet bestaat?

I've seen something before at this subforum, but it's a good thing.

Het lijntje voor sysfs heb je niet nodig in fstab.

Een nieuwe symlink aanmaken kan ook met ln -s f . f=forge, overschrijft de oude symlink.

En wat zit er onder /sys:
