If this had been working and now isn't (and you have already downgraded dbus to 1.10.6), I would do a emerge --update --emptytree @world. That usually solves my problems.

Intel hardware but I think the problem is with the ssd. I noticed that the same class ssd doesn't light up on another computer.

Turned out that I needed to do a cleanup of make.conf and package.use. Now all emerges fine

I am trying to get my hdd activity lights working on a small backplane. It works with Fedora so I assume I am either missing a kernel option or a package. Does anyone have any idea?

Creating that file gave me more option in sddm settings but that did not give ma a progress bar for the splash screen.

I didn't see /etc/sddm.conf. Where do you get a sample .conf?

With sddm as the dm, plasma takes a long time to startup and also I am missing the progress bar on the splash screen. If I switch to gdm, plasma starts much quicker and progress bar works. Any clues?

Has anyone been able to get these tray icons working in kde 5? In Fedora I have tried all the libappindicator packages available and still I get nothing. I don't want to go to kde 5 on my Gentoo box until these packages have tray icons.
