How did you go? Do you still get these errors?

Also - what mobo are you using? Is it a Gigabyte one? I am having these problems with a Gigabyte mobo.

I by mistake removed kdelibs because I was having problems installing kdelibs 4.8.5 - how do i restore kdelibs 4.4 as there is no kdelibs4.8.4 available anymore.

Solved! Using the OHCI Built into the kernel and therefore no need to do a chmod 777 /dev/raw1394 anymore! Simpy issue the command PS I am using kernel 2.6.38-gentoo-r6 .
