Some of bugs are more then 1 year old so most probably ATI is not going to fix it.
I have switched to opensource xf86-video-radeon and quite happy about it.

I followed the drm article on gentoo's wiki and got 2800fps with the opensource driver.
VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV350 [Mobility Radeon 9600 M10]
x11-drm build as module in the kernel

Each new version seems has new bugs.
Old bugs got stucked in an unofficial and unsupported bugzilla for >1 year.

I switched to opensource driver long time ago and forgot about such things.
Its build-in with Xorg 7.1 and gives 3D 2000fps on my ATI ...

this is ati-drivers well-know problem. It exists for 1 year already.
Use opensource driver.

I would recommend do not use ati-drivers with x7.
It's close source, it's buggy and the vendor is not hurry to fix it.
