By chance, are you using a user agent switcher?

To answer your subject line: do not worry, it gets better. My first install took three attempts before I had a bootable system. That was not fun on a 1GHz G4. :)

It is good to see that Micro Center is still around. I remember their HUGE catalogues in the 80's.

It is my understanding that tablets have secure boot enables, which will make it difficult to install Linux. There are solutions, but I do not know how well they work.

What an interesting project. I have had an Acer A100 for a couple of years, but lost interest in it after I found that it was not very hackable. This might get me interested in tablets again.

I agree. The last time I did a Gentoo install I used the System Rescue CD and there was no functional difference.

Subscribed.

I recently had a similar dilemma at work. I built two servers on Dell R420 hardware. The servers we bought had 5 drives arranged as two RAID1 volumes and a hot spare. The install docs for the software that would be running on these servers wanted you to make 1 RAID1 volume for the OS ...

I guess you know by now which way this is going.

Be warned: Once you go to a dual monitor setup, you will never go back. You might even try to talk yourself into a third monitor. :D

I just built a new rig on an Asus M5A99X Evo R2.0 motherboard. I believe it will meet all of your criteria. It is an AMD AM3+ board with an nVidia 990 chipset and is $140 at Newegg. It works perfectly under Linux. Suspend and hibernate even works!

In my experience, this points to a hardware problem. You might be able to clean the mouse button by tapping on it several times a little harder than you normally would.

If that doesn't fix it, then the button is going bad and you have a new mouse in your future.

So, Gentoo will ultimately die because all things ultimately die.

If your card is like mine the second DVI output is DFP-2 instead of DFP-1. You will need to adjust your xorg.conf.

If nouveau is compiled as a module you should be able to add it to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf. However the best way is to take it out of the kernel.
