Hello.
I've just bought a digital camera (FUJI finepix z20).
I've noticed that the related software is shipped for Windows/OS X only, but thought there should be no problems accessing the device through USB. However, it seems like this is not that easy after all. After plugging in the USB cable, dmesg reports the device :
Code: |
usb 2-1: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 3
usb 2-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
|
However, no device node is created. I went on to see what has to say lsusb -v :
Code: |

The problem sems related to this specific USB device as I have no problems using other USB storage devices (phone, mp3players, usbkeys..)
Google has no useful information about how to access this device in Linux, therefore I'm referring to the forum in hope someone can help me to sort this out.
Thanks! |

Their should be an option in the camera somewhere to set it into "disk" mode (usb mass storage)... however, if that doesn't work, gphoto and simlar are your friends. _________________ iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAA

No gphoto doesn't help. It lists the same cameras as gtkam and the Z20 is not in the list. Bummer. The Windows software for this camera is not very good IMHO. If I were better at Linux programming I'd take a crack at it.
Here's what gphoto lists for Fuji cameras.
"Fuji DS-7"
"Fuji DX-10"
"Fuji DX-5"
"Fuji DX-7"
"Fuji MX-1200"
"Fuji MX-1700"
"Fuji MX-2700"
"Fuji MX-2900"
"Fuji MX-500"
"Fuji MX-600"
"Fuji MX-700"
EDIT:
I forgot to mention that I saw no option for disk mode or anything similar. At least I can pop out the memory card and put it in a reader to get files off that way. _________________ Go away or I will replace you with a very small shell script. |
