http://omploader.org/vNTN5YQ

I'm open to suggestions - I wanted to keep the low-quality appeal of the old one, but with actual decent quality (you know, using inkscape correctly).

I'll continue to tweak, but this version offers a few benefits: (at least will be) better looking; since it's 4 colors, will be easier to make shirts of; easier to tweak since the shapes actually line up correctly.

The little bits of blue and red were cool, but I think unnecessary.

anyway, comments?

EDIT: slightly tweaked eyesprouts. - x2

Looks better ... why did you want to keep the low quality look?

I like the old one better. The analog-drawn lines emote more feeling.

that's a bad word for it - last time I tried to redraw him, I made it look too technical almost, like too created. I tried to keep some of the hand-drawn esque feel without making it look like crap (like the old one). The old one was bezier curves that didn't close and had a million points... not ideal.

I'm hoping this looks more natural, and at the same time more better-er.

A shame all the pictures from the old logo thread are gone.

Good job on the revamp.

Maybe this is deliberate, but even though there is a rocket burning, nothing about the snail suggests motion. Maybe bend the eye stalks back or something?

eye stalk bending can look ridiculous, so I'm trying to avoid it... also, physically it sorta makes sense...

uploaded new version... made the eye stalks a bit bigger, but mostly changed the socket size.

Yeah, looks quite like you wanted it to look - like the old one, but somehow better. I like it.

As for the motion:You could just add some horizontal lines behind the snake → no eye stalk bending, but movement implied (bent eye stalks would actually imply acceleration).

Subliminal for "failed launch" perhaps?
