|
|
Okay, first I have to say:
1/ my system is 100% okay
2/ KDE is up, and doing good
3/ ALSA is okay too (added users to audio group... modules load...)
So what's the problem ?
Well it's that my volume settings (using amixer) are not saved between sessions. So when I log in as a user, I have to open a terminal (under KDE) and type
Code: |
$amixer set PCM 100
$amixer set Master 100
|
to hear sound, which then works perfectly (actually I set sound a little lower so bass frequencies dont get distorted).
When I log in as root, everything is okay and I can hear sound without extra commands.
What file should I edit, what file should I chown, what should I do... in order to have an unmuted card for my users ? |

I think there was a problem with alsa locking the system during a boot when you attempted to save the alsa settings so that option was disabled.
Here's the post that I read. You can certainly try to enable it and see if it's working now. I would love to know if it is. _________________ if i never try anything, i never learn anything..
